I started learning yoga in 1997 and in 2006 I graduated with distinction from the HK Yoga Association Intermediate Teacher Training Program. First started as Assistant Instructor at Dickson Yoga and was also sent to teach yoga at various club houses and big corporations. Then become Instructor at Tsim Sha Tsui Dickson Yoga till now. I possess a Hong Kong St. John Ambulance First Aid Certificate and have participated in the Elementary Chinese Medicine Massage Program organized by the Chinese University of Hong Kong, School of Continuing and Professional Studies
To me, yoga is a philosophy of living. Most people are only familiar with the postures (asana) and breathing (pranayama) of yoga, but for me, the highest state of yoga is to reach union of the body, mind and spirit through quieting the mind. To achieve this state, one must practice with persistence. With proper coordinated breathing and physical postures, the body and mind are united and connected.. Yoga practice is not just a stretching exercise, what's more important is to bring this "tranquility" into your life, with it comes self-confidence, bliss, peacefulness and health!
I start and end each yoga lesson with calming exercises followed by variations on sun salutation and appropriate inversion, standing, balancing, sitting and lying postures that suit the physical ability of the class. Yoga is not a competitive sport. Safety and the appreciation and respect to body is of utmost importance. Yoga is confined to oneself. There should be no comparison with others. Be mindful of the body limits! The most important - relax, relax and relax!
